Dr. Matt Buchanan (aka Dr. B) was born in a small town outside of Knoxville, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Louisville’s School of Dentistry in 2017, he attended the Army’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Fort Carson, Colorado, where he was extensively trained by board certified specialists in all aspects of dentistry. Upon graduating residency, he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas for 4 years where he served as the 1st Cavalry Division’s Brigade dentist. During his assignment he delivered top quality dental care to active duty soldiers in both clinical and field settings across multiple combat training exercises and a 9 month deployment to Eastern Europe.

After 5 years of active duty, Dr. B left the Army to continue his career at River Valley Dental. He is excited to deliver compassionate and comprehensive care to the people of Maysville and the surrounding counties.

In his spare time, Dr. B enjoys spending time with his wife, Jess (Kentucky native), and their daughter, Dani. He loves fishing, golfing, playing disc golf, and traveling. During sports season you can find him cheering for the Bengals, Reds, and Volunteers.
